Winter is just around the corner, bringing with it the usual wave of seasonal illnesses. We've already noticed a rise in respiratory infections, and as illnesses in children increase, so does the demand for our care. While we're committed to supporting you and your child when you need us, there may be times during this busy season when same-day sick appointments are unavailable. To help you navigate this time, here are a few helpful reminders.
- We’re Here for You: Our office is open 7 days a week and only closes on 7 holidays per year or during severe weather events.
- Weekday Hours: We’re open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with phones available starting at 8:00 AM. Please note, our phones are directed to the nurse line during lunch from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
- Weekend Hours: On weekends, our office is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with phones available starting at 8:30 AM.
- Appointment Policy: Walk-in appointments are not available. Families with scheduled appointments will be seen first, so we strongly encourage you to call ahead to avoid long waits.
- Online Scheduling: For non-urgent appointments, use our online scheduling tool: (https://z3-rpw.phreesia.net/ApptRequestForm.App/#/form/5d58f144-997a-4da4-8c02-aaa910a13f22).
- 24-Hour Nurse Line: Our nurse line is here to assist you if your child is unwell. Often, the nurse can help you avoid a trip to the office. During office hours, select the nurse option when calling. After hours, call our office to be routed to a nurse, or use this link to send a message: https://www.cptriad.com/24-hour-care).
- Text Us via Klara: Avoid long hold times by using Klara, our secure and HIPAA-compliant texting platform, monitored during office hours: (https://www.cptriad.com).
- Symptom Checker: For guidance on treating your child’s symptoms, visit our symptom checker: (https://www.cptriad.com).

Babies cry for various reasons, and understanding these can help soothe them. They often cry when hungry, signaling it's time for a meal, or when tired, indicating the need for a nap. Overfeeding can lead to discomfort and fussiness. If breastfeeding, caffeine intake might affect your baby and cause irritability. Clothing discomfort, such as scratchy tags or tight clothes, can also make a baby cry. A wet or dirty diaper is a common source of discomfort. Colicky babies may cry for extended periods without an apparent reason. Painful causes like teething, stomachaches, or other physical discomforts can also lead to crying. Remember, a happy baby is a healthy baby! https://www.cptriad.com/resources/Is-Your-Child-Sick/?tArticleId=624 #BabyCare #ParentingTips 🌟

🤧 Did you know that respiratory viruses are the primary cause of colds? Common symptoms of a cold include nasal congestion, ear congestion, a hoarse voice, poor appetite, and red, watery eyes. These symptoms can be quite uncomfortable and might make daily activities challenging. On average, children experience about 6 colds per year, which can be especially tough for parents managing their care. It's crucial to understand effective at-home remedies, such as staying hydrated, using saline nasal sprays, and ensuring plenty of rest to alleviate symptoms. Knowing how long a typical cold lasts—usually about 7 to 10 days—can also help in planning and managing expectations for recovery.
